Independently collects, complies, evaluates and analyses relevant GIS data for analysis. Creates beautifully engaging traditional and interactive maps and geovisualizations using modern GIS toolsets. Assists with or independently conducts research of new toolsets and processes to enhance the quality and efficiency of map and data delivery. Ensures that GIS software and equipment is properly deployed and installed within the Department. Develops customized GIS applications using a variety of toolsets such as: ArcGIS and Python; researches and leverages new tools when appropriate and as directed by the GIS Manager or by Departmental senior staff.
GIS Data Specialist
The GIS Data Specialist’s primary role will be to prepare geospatial data for internal projects and facilitate the development of our spatial data product line. The position involves technical, professional work in developing, implementing, and maintaining of Spatial Networks’ data and information into the company’s enterprise GIS system and services. The GIS Data Specialist may be asked to take part in special project assignments, provide spatial data analysis, and perform quality assurance and quality control of geospatial data deliverables.
The Analyst applies skills as a seasoned, experienced GIS research professional. Collects, manages and analyzes GIS data relevant for epidemiologic studies, across all phases from design (grant proposals) to dissemination (publications). Develops and optimizes research gathering, retrieval, and reporting systems. Prepares reports and documents research methods. Evaluates analytic strategies and collaborates with research team in determining best research methods.
